    Today's session is entitled "Being Trauma Informed in the Workplace," presented by Stacie Kemp and Jennifer Thomason of Sinnissippi Centers, Inc.  Some information you will take away from this session, includes:

    • What does it mean to become a trauma informed organization?

    Stacie Kemp is the Chief Clinical Officer at Sinnissippi Centers, Inc., a position she has held for the past 2½ years.  She was born and raised in Mt. Carroll, IL, and attended Knox College in Galesburg, as well as The George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.  After earning her Masters degree in Social Work, she returned to Mt. Carroll and joined Sinnissippi Centers, Inc. as an outpatient clinician for the next two years.  Stacie then moved to Milwaukee where she lived for 13 years.  She worked for several private organizations that provided child welfare services for Milwaukee County and also worked for the state of Wisconsin as a Program Evaluation Manager, overseeing several of the child welfare contracts with the state.  Stacie spent the majority of her career in Milwaukee at Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS), where she worked for 9 years.  When she left LSS, she was serving as the Executive Director of Performance and Quality Improvement and IT Business Collaboration.  In her current role at Sinnissippi, Stacie is leading the organization-wide trauma informed care efforts.

    Jennifer Thomason, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Human Development Counseling from the University of IL at Springfield.  She has worked in the mental health field 13 years.  She has been with Sinnissippi Centers just under 11 years and currently in the position of Director of Adult Services.  Jennifer manages oversight of many programs including adult outpatient mental health and substance abuse, crisis, and residential.  She is an American Heart Association CPR/First Aid instructor and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructor with the designation to instruct law enforcement / public safety / corrections audiences as well as higher education audiences.
