Providing HR Leadership During a Crisis

Interrupting Bias – Is It a Choice or a Need?

Many companies and organizations spend extensive time, money, and emotional resources on bias and cultural competency training each year. The goal is to create inclusive and effective workplaces where innovation and success are valued, but people are also valued for all that they bring to the workplace. But what happens after the training? This interactive workshop will examine practical steps and practices to interrupt bias and to create that inclusive workspace.

When Domestic Violence Effects our Employees

This month's presentation will cover signs of potential abuse we may see in our employees, how to handle disclosures of abuse, and referral resources.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, we will not be holding a face-to-face meeting this month.  However, because we miss seeing everyone, our May meeting will be a Zoom meeting featuring our Networking session which we cancelled in March.

Illinois now joins a growing number of states that have passed stronger anti-harassment legislation in the wake of #MeToo. For Illinois employers, a new law, SB 75, known as the Workplace Transparency Act, requires that all employees receive sexual harassment training on an annual basis.
